7 Books You Should Read to Begin Your Financial Education

Top books on how to create wealth.

“If a man empties his purse into his head, no man can take it away from him. An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.” – Benjamin franklin.

“Academic qualifications are important, and so is financial education. They are both important and schools are forgetting one.”- Robert Kiyosaki.

“The number one problem in today’s generation is the lack of financial literacy.”- Alan Greenspan.

When your life and health are intact, the next essential thing you need is money. If you look around you, you will observe people engaging in one activity or the other. Ninety-nine percent of those activities are not for fun, they are geared towards making money. People wake up very early on daily basis, jump traffic, work hard in their various offices and come back late at night. They are all looking for one thing, and  that thing is money.

Another observation is that everybody strives to make money and get rich, but some despite their effort still remain poor. On the other side of the divide, life seems easy to some people. They have abundant wealth, and their financial fortunes keep increasing day in day out. What factor do you thing is responsible for the difference in the financial situation of these two categories of people?

In my opinion, the difference does not lie in luck, it lies in financial intelligence. The latter group understands how money works, they know the rules that govern wealth creation, they are financially literate, they disciplined themselves to apply the rules of wealth creation and the result is financial success.

If you must activate or develop your financial intelligence, you need financial education. I have personally read all the books I am recommending here, and it has gone a long way in helping me in understanding how money works.  Millions of people   all over the world have read these books, applied the principles in them and have become millionaires.

The books are as follows:

1. Acres of Diamonds

This is one of the most life-transforming books I have ever read. The book was written by an American preacher whose name is Russell Conwell. The core message of the book is that, there are vast opportunities to become rich where you are right now and with what you have. It will expose you to the strategies of identifying needs around you and providing solutions to them and thus making money.
It will teach you the essence of money and while you need to acquire it.  It will inspire you and change your limiting beliefs about wealth creation.

2. Rich Dad Poor Dad

This is one of the best-selling financial education books of the 21st century. It was co-authored by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon L. Lechter. If you have ever held the belief that a university degree will make you wealthy, Rich Dad Poor Dad will change orientation.  The book will expose you to so many available opportunities to get rich in our time.  After you are done with it, I predict that you will come to the conclusion that it would be a crime for you to remain poor in life.

3. The Science of Getting Rich

If right now you have become tired, and frustrated about your financial situation, I recommend you to get a copy of this book and start reading. The science of getting rich was written by Wallace Wattles. Though the book was written many decades ago, the truth it contains about how anyone can turn his or her financial life around are eternal. For as long as the earth remains, the content will ever remain valid. The book does not only focus on wealth creation, it exposes the principles you need to create any result in life. Reading the science of getting rich will re-orient your approach to life and boost your financial intelligence.

4. The Richest Man in Babylon

This is another powerful and educative book you need to read on wealth creation. The richest man in Babylon will teach you how to start building your financial fortunes from scratch, invest wisely and multiply your financial resources. This book will also destroy every limiting belief you ever hold about money and its acquisition.

5. Think and Grow Rich

This book though given a title that is wealth creation focused. The book consists of basic principles anybody can apply to succeed in life. It also provides great strategies for creating wealth. If you really desire success and riches in life, it is a book you need to read. It was written by Napoleon Hill.

6. Making your First Million

This book still remain one of the best books I have ever read on wealth creation till date. It contains timeless wisdom any generation can apply to create wealth for themselves. This book will open your eyes to the foolishness in gambling. It will show you how to identify business opportunities and take advantage of them. It will expose you to the principles that are critical to creating wealth. If you need motivation, the book will motivate and inspire you to take action. Making your First Million was written by George Parry.

7. Making Money, Creating wealth

If you don’t know anything about how money works, “Making money, creating wealth: Your Guide to financial independence,” is the book you need to educate yourself on the mystery of money. The book is written by Phillip E.Humbered. If you have ever desired to become a millionaire, this is the book that will provide you the necessary guide you need to achieve that dream. It will boost your financial intelligence.

All of the above books are great books you need to read to begin your financial education. There are other books that were written to educate people on the issue of money, but the ones listed here have been read by many people, and the principles they contain have been proven and tested to be capable of delivering result to anyone who will be willing to apply them.  From my experience, you can’t read these books, apply the principles in them and remain stranded financially, it can never be possible.
